About the Project
From August 2026, the documentation obligations of the EU AI Act take effect. Companies using AI – chatbots, recruiting tools, automated decision systems – must act.
The Problem
Most companies don't know where they stand. Which of their AI systems fall under the EU AI Act? What needs to be documented? How do they deploy GDPR-compliant AI without blocking innovation?
EU AI Act Readiness
Systematic analysis of new obligations. Assessment of AI systems by risk classification, documentation requirements and transparency requirements. Development of practical compliance frameworks – active research at BIH / Charité (Health Data Sciences).
GDPR-compliant AI Development
Technical measures for privacy-compliant AI: anonymization technologies, pseudonymization, privacy by design in LLM applications. Data protection impact assessments (DPIA) for AI systems.
Governance Frameworks
Consulting on introducing AI governance structures: AI Steering Boards, use case prioritization processes, shadow AI management and internal training concepts.
